Afghanistan, Kazakhstan Stress Expansion of Trade and Transit Ties

DID Press: Kazakhstan’s chargé d’affaires in Kabul, during a visit to Herat, met with Herat Governor Noor Ahmad Islamjar to discuss expanding trade and transit relations between the two countries.

According to the Herat governor’s press office, the Kazakh diplomat emphasized the need to provide further facilities to promote trade and described Herat as having significant economic potential.

During the meeting, the Herat governor also stressed the importance of strengthening the Torghundi port to increase trade between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan and called for Kazakh investment in various sectors of Herat’s economy.

According to Herat officials, the province is ready to receive domestic and foreign investment given its geographic location and economic potential.
