Afghanistan United Front Claims Attacks on Two Taliban Members in Kandahar and Khost

DID Press: Afghanistan United Front has claimed that its forces killed two Taliban members in separate attacks in Kandahar and Khost provinces, including a member of the Taliban police and an official from the Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.

The front said the first attack took place on Wednesday night, Sept. 9, in the 15th police district of Kandahar city. It claimed that the targeted individual had been involved in extortion, arbitrary arrests and harassment of local residents.

According to the front, the second attack took place in Khost city, where Mohammad Wali Jan Edalatyar, a senior official of the Taliban’s Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, was targeted.

The Afghanistan United Front has also reported several attacks against the Taliban in Kandahar in recent weeks. Its claims about previous attacks in the province have been reported by Afghan media, but have not been independently verified, while Taliban officials have generally not commented on such claims.
