Pakistan Raises Fuel Prices Amid Global Oil Price Changes

DID Press: Pakistan has raised fuel prices again, with the new rates taking effect from Sept. 12 amid changes in global oil prices. The increase marks the fifth consecutive daily rise in petrol and high-speed diesel prices.

The Pakistani government issued an official notification raising the prices of petroleum products for the fifth consecutive day.

Under the new rates, petrol will cost 375.82 Pakistani rupees per litre, while high-speed diesel will rise to 403.32 rupees per litre. The prices will remain in effect from Sept. 12 through Sept. 14.

The latest increase amounts to 5.02 rupees per litre for petrol and 5.28 rupees for diesel. Over the previous five days, petrol has risen by nearly 30 rupees per litre, while diesel has increased by more than 25 rupees.

Pakistan periodically adjusts fuel prices based on international petroleum prices and other cost factors. The latest revision comes as global oil prices remain elevated amid heightened tensions affecting energy markets.

The continued increase in fuel prices could put further pressure on transportation costs and, consequently, the prices of goods and services in Pakistan.
