Kazakhstan Invites Afghan Sports Teams for Training Programs and Friendly Matches

DID Press: Kazakhstan has invited Afghan athletes and sports teams to travel to the country for training camps and friendly matches as the two sides seek to expand sports cooperation, according to Afghanistan’s General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education and Sports.

Gaziz Akbassov, Kazakhstan’s ambassador to Afghanistan, discussed expanding sports cooperation with Ahmadullah Wasiq, head of Afghanistan’s General Directorate of Olympic, Physical Education and Sports.

During the meeting, Akbassov expressed Kazakhstan’s readiness to increase sports exchanges with Afghanistan and invited Afghan athletes and teams to participate in training programs and friendly matches in Kazakhstan.

He welcomed the development of sports relations between the two countries and stressed the need to create greater opportunities for Afghan athletes to take part in sporting programs in Kazakhstan.

Wasiq welcomed the proposal, saying that joint training camps and friendly matches between the two countries’ sports teams would be a positive step toward strengthening sports relations between Afghanistan and Kazakhstan.
