Taliban: 110 Passengers Stopped in Nimroz Human-Smuggling Operation

DID Press: Taliban security officials in Afghanistan’s Nimroz province said they have discovered three hideouts allegedly used by human smugglers in Zaranj and prevented 110 passengers from being illegally transported to neighboring countries.

Mawlawi Gul Mohammad Qudrat, spokesperson for the Taliban police command in Nimroz, said security forces identified and raided three hideouts in the third security district of Zaranj and in the village of Moallem Akhtar.

According to Qudrat, the locations were allegedly being used to facilitate the illegal transfer of passengers from Afghanistan to neighboring countries.

He said the operation prevented 110 people from leaving Afghanistan through illegal routes. Three people were arrested in connection with the case, while two vehicles were also seized.

Taliban security officials have not provided further details about the identities of those arrested or the passengers’ intended destination.
