DID Press: Afghanistan Freedom Front said its fighters attacked a Taliban checkpoint in Kabul’s Sarai-e-Shomali area on Wednesday evening, killing two Taliban members and wounding two others.
According to a statement by the group, the attack took place at around 8:50 p.m. in the area covered by Kabul’s 11th security district.
The Freedom Front claimed that the operation was carried out by its guerrilla forces amid growing security concerns in Afghanistan.
The group also said concerns among Afghanistan’s neighboring and regional countries over the spread of terrorism and extremism from Afghan territory have increased, adding that visits by security officials from some regional countries to Kabul should be viewed in this context.
The Freedom Front further claimed that these countries do not accept the Taliban’s assertion that they have established “nationwide security” in Afghanistan.
The Taliban have not publicly commented on the reported attack or the casualties claimed by the Freedom Front. The claims could not be independently verified.
