Afghanistan, Tajikistan Chambers Discuss Expanding Economic Cooperation
DID Press: Heads of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Tajikistan held an online meeting on Wednesday to discuss expanding trade and economic cooperation between the private sectors of the two countries.

According to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Sayed Karim Hashemi, chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment, and Farhad Shah Rahman Alizadeh, chairman of the Tajikistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, discussed increasing bilateral trade, establishing direct contacts between traders and investors, and organizing joint economic programs.
During the meeting, Hashemi invited Tajik traders and investors to participate in the Fifth Imam Abu Hanifa International Exhibition in Kabul.
In response, the head of the Tajikistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry invited an Afghan delegation to attend the Tajikistan Trade and Industrial Exhibition in Dushanbe.
The two sides also emphasized exchanging business delegations and strengthening sustainable cooperation between the private sectors of Afghanistan and Tajikistan.
Afghanistan’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce has previously reported a series of initiatives aimed at expanding regional trade and private-sector ties. Official ministry records identify Sayed Karim Hashemi as chairman of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
