Iranian Firefighters Help Contain Fire at Afghanistan’s Islam Qala Customs

DID Press: A fire at the Islam Qala customs facility was brought under control with the assistance of Iranian emergency crews and firefighters.

Hossein Jamshidi, governor of Taybad, said four fire engines, along with rescue and emergency personnel, were dispatched to Islam Qala to help contain the blaze.

According to him, preliminary assessments indicate that the fire started in a tanker, and based on field observations by drivers and Iranian firefighters, around 20 trucks also caught fire in the incident.

The Taybad governor added that firefighting operations were carried out throughout the area to prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding locations, while firefighters were continuing to extinguish remaining hotspots.
