Russia Urges Foreign Diplomats, Nationals to Leave Kyiv

DID Press: Russia’s Foreign Ministry has again urged foreign diplomats and nationals to leave Kyiv, warning that remaining in the Ukrainian capital amid the possibility of further large-scale attacks could put their lives at deliberate risk.

The warning comes as Russian attacks on Kyiv have intensified in recent days, with parts of the city’s infrastructure coming under attack. Russian authorities have said their armed forces will continue carrying out what they describe as “massive retaliatory strikes” and warned foreign nationals, including diplomatic personnel, against remaining in Ukraine or traveling there.

At the same time, Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry said that, as of Friday evening, it had received no official notification from any foreign embassy regarding plans to relocate its diplomatic mission from Kyiv. Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Heorhii Tykhyi said no such requests had been received from the foreign diplomatic corps.

The latest warning comes amid a renewed wave of Russian attacks on Kyiv, including strikes affecting key infrastructure. Reuters reported that Russian drone attacks on the capital have intensified, while an attack on the Northern Bridge on October 3 disrupted traffic across the Dnipro River.
