DID Press: French President Emmanuel Macron has reached a new low in public approval, with just 15% of respondents expressing a favorable opinion of his performance, according to an October poll by Ipsos BVA-CESI for La Tribune Dimanche.

The figure is down one percentage point from the previous month and marks Macron’s lowest approval rating since he took office in 2017. The survey found that 82% of respondents held an unfavorable view of his performance.
The rising cost of living remains the leading concern among the French public, while worries about the sustainability of social protection services, public debt and employment are also weighing on public sentiment. The poll also points to growing pessimism about the country’s economic and budgetary outlook.
