Hairatan Rail Port Receives Up to 300 Freight Wagons Daily
DID Press: Afghanistan’s Hairatan railway port in the north of the country receives between 280 and 300 freight wagons daily from Central Asian countries, according to port officials.

The railway port plays a key role in supplying Afghanistan’s domestic markets and expanding the country’s trade ties with regional partners.
Sayed Qadeem Karimi, head of transport at Hairatan railway port, told local media that commercial activity had increased this year, with an average of 280 to 300 freight wagons arriving daily.
He said a variety of goods, including clothing, medical equipment, machinery and electrical appliances, are transported into Afghanistan via the Hairatan–Mazar-i-Sharif railway line.
Karimi also noted that trade with China had expanded in recent years.
The 75-km Hairatan–Mazar-i-Sharif railway connects Afghanistan with Uzbekistan and serves as a major route for transporting goods from Central Asia and other regional markets into Afghanistan.
