Pakistan’s ANP Leader Backs Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor After Meeting

DID Press: Aimal Wali Khan, leader of Pakistan’s Awami National Party (ANP), has expressed support for Faisal Karim Kundi, the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, following a meeting between the two, marking a shift from his earlier opposition to the governor’s authority in parliament.

In a video message released after the meeting, Aimal Wali Khan described the current situation as going beyond political competition for power, saying it was an issue of “national survival and existence.”

He said the prevailing circumstances should not be viewed solely through the lens of political rivalry, arguing that the situation concerned the country’s broader survival.

Referring to the current conditions, Aimal Wali Khan said the governor’s authority was appropriate for the circumstances and added that he had his prayers and support.

The contrast between his earlier parliamentary opposition and his latest remarks following the meeting has drawn attention to the ANP leader’s evolving position on the political situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
