Dogharoun Border Crossing Handles 70% of Iran’s Exports to Afghanistan

DID Press: Iran’s Dogharoun border terminal accounted for 70% of the country’s exports to Afghanistan during the first six months of the current year, according to the terminal’s director.

Mohsen Rokni, director of the Dogharoun border terminal in Iran’s Razavi Khorasan Province, said the crossing played a major role in facilitating trade between the two neighbouring countries during the first half of the year.

In addition to handling a significant share of Iran’s exports to Afghanistan, Dogharoun accounted for 34% of Iran’s imports of goods and 20% of inbound goods transit from Afghanistan to Iran, Rokni said.

He identified construction materials, iron and steel products, food items, fruit, vegetables and petroleum products as the main Iranian exports transported to Afghanistan through the crossing.

The figures highlight Dogharoun’s importance as a major trade corridor between Iran and Afghanistan, facilitating the movement of goods and supporting commercial exchanges between the two countries.
