More Than 68,000 People Receive Health Services in Eastern Afghanistan
DID Press: More than 68,000 people in Afghanistan’s eastern provinces of Nangarhar and Laghman have gained access to primary healthcare services through a programme supported by the Italian government, the World Health Organization (WHO) says.

According to the WHO, women, children and returnees accounted for a significant share of those benefiting from the programme.
The services provided included medical care, vaccinations, medicine distribution, and mental health and psychosocial support.
The initiative aims to improve access to essential healthcare for vulnerable communities in eastern Afghanistan, where many people face barriers to medical services.
The WHO has highlighted the importance of international financial support in maintaining and expanding healthcare services for underserved communities across Afghanistan.
