UNAMA Chief: Afghans’ Potential Outweighs Challenges
DID Press: Rabab Fatima, head of the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), has said that the talents, aspirations and potential of the Afghan people are greater than the challenges facing the country.

In her first official message from Kabul, released on Saturday, October 24, to mark United Nations Day and the organisation’s 81st anniversary, Fatima reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to supporting the people of Afghanistan.
She said the United Nations would continue working to uphold human dignity, create better opportunities and improve the lives of all Afghans.
Fatima said she had assumed her responsibilities in Afghanistan with deep respect for its people and culture, pledging to listen to their concerns and engage with them.
She assured Afghans that the United Nations would remain a “committed partner” as they work to shape their own future.
