DID Press: Democrats have regained a majority in the US Senate from Republicans after winning several key electoral contests, including races in Texas, Kansas and South Carolina, according to Politico.
The results come after President Donald Trump personally led the Republican Party’s election campaign. The recent defeats could reshape the balance of power in the US Congress and create new political challenges for the Trump administration.
However, Democrats will have to wait until the start of the new legislative session to officially begin exercising their newly secured Senate majority.
