The Afghanistan presidential palace (ARG) reacted against Gulbuddin Hekmatyar’s peace plan, saying the government respects the plans by parties and political figures, but the official stance of the government on peace clearly vowed at the second “Kabul Process-2” summit.
“The government respects the ideas and plans of parties and figures, but the official stance expressed in this regard,” said Shah Hussain Mortazavi, the acting head of presidential press office.
“The view of Kabul Process was clearly expressed about peace. This is a personal opinion of some political figures but what is related to the government was the same issue announced in Kabul Process,” Mr. Mortazavi added.
This comes as details of Mr. Hekmatyar’s plan on peace with Taliban given to the government broadcasted on media outlets.
According to the report of an American newspaper, Mr. Hekmatayar is working on a plan to cede some provinces to Taliban.
The newspaper quoted from Mr. Hekmatyar as saying, the plan will be effective, adding that he has talked with president Ghani in this regard as well.
