The 4th death anniversary of former Vice President Marshal M. Qasim Fahim was commemorated on Friday at Loya Jirga pavilion.
Jihadi leaders, political parties, representatives of both houses, cabinet ministers and people attended the ceremony and each pointed out the unique features of “Marshal” in their rhetoric.
Former president of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai described Mohammad Qasim Fahim, as “the Marshal of Afghanistan”, adding that Marshal Fahim was looking for a united Afghanistan, and we are moving his intellectual paths towards a stable future.
Speaking about the critical situation in the country, Hamid Karzai said: “we can only treat the country’s pain with a home-made remedy.”
Meanwhile, Abdul Rab Rassoul Sayyaf, a Jihadi leader said that Marshal M. Q. Fahim was the guardian of Jihad and resistance values. Afghanistan apart from Mujahidin has nothing to defend it.
Addressing to Dr. Abdullah, Mr. Sayyaf said: “the government must prevent the activities of spy networks which is leading the country towards destruction.”
“Major conspiracies ongoing against the nation of Afghanistan and the brave people of Afghanistan will neutralize these plots. No one can divide the people of Afghanistan.
Mr. Sayyaf emphasized that Mujahidin and the people of Afghanistan are ready to provide peace as they stood defending this land, while the leader of Hezb-e Islami Gulbuddin Hekmatyar demanded to cede some provinces of the country to Taliban group in the name of ‘peace zones.’
The prominent Jihadi figure addressed to the state leaders, saying: “my suggestion is that you should have an offer, but not prepayment. Tell them to come to their country and we will give you ministry, you can live in anywhere and can form a political party and so on. But for the sake of Allah, do not pay them from the nation’s wealth. Do not tell them that come and we will give you that province. Once you hand that area as to them (Taliban), then it will not become a secure region, but will become a region of chaos.”
In reaction to Hekmatyar’s words about suicide bombing, he said: “everybody has the right to express their opinion. But I demand from everyone, not to impose their idea on religion, say this is my opinion, do not say this is Halal and this is Haram. Because Allah’s Halal and Haram are known. Allah and the messenger stated the Halal and Haram, who are we to say this is Halal and this is Haram …close the mouths of anyone who say such things.”
“A suicide attack occurred at the gathering held in commemoration of Abdul Ali Mazari in the west of Kabul, right now, discussions ongoing on whether it is Halal or Haram, this is our situation,” he added.
On the other hand, Chief executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah described current situation fragile, stressing that Afghanistan is in its most dangerous status.
Speaking at the event, referring to the character and performance of the Marshal of Afghanistan during the period of Jihad, Resistance and the Post-Taliban regime, the Chief Executive emphasized that unity, justice, and equality formed the basis of Marshall’s thought, and it was Marshal’s vision not to return to the past.
“Marshall believed that Afghanistan should not return to the past divisions. What weakened Afghanistan is the divisions that have been created among the people. The source of which is the lack of awareness and ignorance of the status and non-commitment to the aspirations of the people, and the injustices taking place,” Abdullah said.
The chief executive in another part of his speech said the election commission and the government should get the people’s trust.
