At least 9 killed and over 35 injured after back to back explosions rocked eastern Nangarhar’s Jalalabad city on Sunday, local officials confirmed.
The suicide attacks targeted the provincial revenue department about 12:35 pm (local time).
Health officials in the province confirm that 9 killed and over 45 injured people have been transferred to the hospital so far.
Meanwhile, the provincial governor’s spokesperson says 4 killed and 20 more wounded in clashes between the security forces and the insurgents.
According to him, clashes ongoing between the security forces and the suicide attackers; but did not give details about the exact number of attackers.
Children and women are also among those killed or wounded during the incident.
