Moments after an explosion rocket Kabul PD-9 on Monday morning, Afghanistan’s Ministry of Interior Affairs claimed the suicide bomber was recognized and destroyed before reaching the target.
The suicide bomber intended to target the vehicle carrying staff in PD-9 of Kabul city, but was destroyed before reaching the target, the statement said.
The incident happened at about 8:15 am (local time) in PD9 in Kabul city, a spokesman for Kabul police chief confirmed.
According to the Ministry of Interior Affairs, 2 policemen and 4 civilians were injured in the explosion in eastern Kabul city.
However, the IEC says at least one policeman and one civilian were killed and five IEC staff members were wounded.
No group has yet claimed responsibility of the attack.
