For a while, Afghanistan and Pakistani foreign ministers negotiate on “Pakistan-Afghanistan Action Plan for Peace and Solidarity (APAPPS)” to build confidence.

During the meeting, both sides discussed a range of issues relating to Afghanistan-Pakistan relations including peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan, counter-terrorism, the return of Afghan refugees, bilateral trade and regional connectivity.

They also agreed to hold an early meeting of the Joint Economic Commission to take forward planning and implementation of key rail road gas pipeline and energy projects that would integrate Pakistan and Afghanistan with Central Asia.

Abbasi also met with other senior Afghanistan political leaders including CEO Abdullah Abdullah, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, Mohammad Mohaqiq, Mohammad Karim Khalili, and Sayed Hamed Gailani.

President Ghani reiterated that the current situation does not benefit anyone and that any concerns in this respect should be addressed through talks.

It is worth mentioning that state to state negotiation to curb terrorism was the major issue of the meeting.
