Abdullah Off to Dushanbe to Attend SCO Summit

Afghanistan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on Thursday left Kabul for Tajikistan to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.


Afghanistan Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah on Thursday left Kabul for Tajikistan to attend Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
It is the 17th meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of SCO which kicks off today in Dushanbe capital of Tajikistan.
Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani and a number of government officials are accompanying the CE in the visit.

Mr. Abdullah will deliver speech at the annual meeting which takes place to expand cooperation and promote stability in the region, his press office said in a statement.

During the meetings, Abdullah will talk counter-terrorism, counter-narcotics, expansion of regional cooperation, implementation of major regional projects, increasing trade and drawing support of regional countries for Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace process.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Abdullah will meet Prime Ministers of Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Belarus and Indian foreign minister.
