Achievements, Personality of Wali Khan Darwazi Commemorated
Speaking during the opening ceremony of two-day international seminar in commemoration of the personality and achievements of M. Wali Khan Darwazi – Minister of Foreign affairs in the era of King Amanullah Khan – the chief executive officer Abdullah Abdullah said: “if we do not make consultation with the people and parties about the country’s major issues, it means, we have not learned from the history.”
Speaking during the opening ceremony of two-day international seminar in commemoration of the personality and achievements of M. Wali Khan Darwazi – Minister of Foreign affairs in the era of King Amanullah Khan – the chief executive officer Abdullah Abdullah said: “if we do not make consultation with the people and parties about the country’s major issues, it means, we have not learned from the history.”
“Mohammad Wali Khan Darwazi was a complete combatant and a scientist and did his best for the freedom of the country,” CEO Abdullah Abdullah said. “Wali Khan loved education and worked for the improvements of education in the country. Unfortunately, schools are closed to hundreds of girls and boys in various parts of the country and scores of girls and boys deprived of education,” he added.
Abdullah Abdullah further said that Muhammad Wali Khan is the martyr for justice and democratic values in the country, who was tried and sentenced to death without committing any crimes.
“if we do not make consultation with the people and the political parties of the country about national issues, it means that we have not learned from the history,” the CEO added.
The country’s foreign minister Salahuddin Rabbani also talked about the personality of M. Wali Khan Darwazi, saying that “M. Wali Khan loved schools and education and had respect to the opinions of Ulema about national issues.”
“we should highlight the role of Ulema in the soft-war against terror through the personality of Wali Khan Darwazi,” the foreign minister added. “Wali Khan Darwazi and his likes put their effort to end autocracy and monopolization of political power,” Rabbani continued.
Mohammad Wali Khan Darvazi was the Foreign Minister, Defense Minister and the regent of Amanullah Khan and one of Afghanistan’s true liberators who played an important role in the struggle against British colonialism and achieving independence.
