Afghan Delegation for Doha Talks Off to Qatar

The Afghanistani delegation which is expected to attend an intra-Afghan meeting in Doha, Qatar has left Kabul Saturday for Qatar.

The Afghanistani delegation which is expected to attend an intra-Afghan meeting in Doha, Qatar has left Kabul Saturday for Qatar.
“The Afghan delegation (on Saturday 6 July) left Kabul for Qatar,” the executive directorate said in a statement.

“The meeting is a good opportunity for the people of Afghanistan to officially start talks,” the statement read, adding that “we hope this meeting will help pave the way for “dialogues”, but the Taliban’s intention should be clear and practically cooperate with this process.”

The intra-Afghan talks are expected to be held on 7, 8 July 2019 in Qatar.
This comes as US-Taliban talks continue in Qatar and the sides are discussing a withdrawal timetable for US troops and a counterterrorism guarantee.
