Afghan Finance Minister Eklil Hakimi – one of the top allies of President Ashraf Ghani – resigned on Tuesday morning expressing personal reasons.
Afghan Finance Minister Eklil Hakimi – one of the top allies of President Ashraf Ghani – resigned on Tuesday morning expressing personal reasons.
Speaking during press conference, Hakimi said Wednesday would be his last day in office. He did not elaborate on the reason.
He is a former Afghan diplomat and has served as Afghanistan’s ambassador to China, Japan, and the United States as well as the deputy foreign minister.
