Afghan Gov’t Announces List of Qatar Delegation
Afghan government announced Tuesday the names of participants for Qatar meeting which it includes 250 people. However, it has earlier said that 150 people, including 40 women, will attend the meeting.
Afghan government announced Tuesday the names of participants for Qatar meeting which it includes 250 people. However, it has earlier said that 150 people, including 40 women, will attend the meeting.
“The delegation is composed of various walks of the society and are expected to attend the meeting,” said Shah Hussain Mortazavi, the deputy spokesman to president Ghani.
The delegation includes:
1. Representatives of political parties
2. Rep. of political figures
3. Rep. of Jihadi leaders
4. Rep. of the families of victims
5. Rep. of high peace council
6. Rep. of Ulema council
7. Rep. of National assembly
8. Rep. of civil society
9. Rep. of women
10. Rep. of youths
11. Rep. of journalists
12. Government officials
13. Tribal elders
The names of some critical faces of the government – which were not in the previous list – can be seen in the newly composition.
However, Taliban are not ready for direct talks with the Afghan government so far.
