Afghan embassy officials in Tehran say a 5-year-old Afghanistani migrant girl was sexually abused in Isfahan, Iran.
Afghan embassy officials in Tehran say a 5-year-old Afghanistani migrant girl was sexually abused in Isfahan, Iran.
Mojtaba Nikzad, director of public relations and press of the embassy in Tehran, confirmed the event to the media, saying that the child’s family complained to the embassy in Tehran.
Mr. Nikzad said the incident occurred in Khomein Shahr, Isfahan, and the aggressor has not been detained so far.
The incident happened while a seven-year-old Afghan girl was also raped on 14 April. The aggressor was a 41-year-old man who murdered the victim after raping her.
The raped girl is named Bahara. She went to bakery around 10 to 11 a.m (local time) when she was first kidnapped then sexually abused.
The child is alive and is under treatment but her mother told BBC that her mental condition is not good.
“We live in fear. All family members were shocked. Police said they will handle it,” her mother said.
The Iranian police said they will address the case.
