Afghan Presidential Elections Delayed
Afghan election commission on Wednesday announced a two-month delay in the presidential polls which was previously scheduled for July.
Hawa Alam Nuristani, the chief election commissioner, said during a press conference in Kabul that the presidential polls will be delayed for two months due to problems.
Demanding a timely budget from the government, she added that the presidential elections previously scheduled for July 20 would now be held on 28 Sept. 2019.
A total of 18 candidates are set to compete in the upcoming elections.
