Afghanistan’s Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani during a meeting with the chairman of Iran’s Strategic Council on Foreign Relations Kamal Kharrazi said Afghanistan will not allow anyone to use its land against Iran and any other country.
Salahuddin Rabbani expressed the words in meeting with the head of Iran’s strategic Council on Foreign Relations Kamal Kharrazi late Sunday.
“The government of Afghanistan will not let any action be taken from its soil against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Mr Rabbani said.
Stressing on friendly relations between Afghanistan and Iran, Rabbani said: “The two countries share common religion and culture, and Afghanistan needs the help of its neighbors.”
Both sides discussed bilateral relations, security and economic cooperation as well.
The presence of Western troops, especially the United States in Afghanistan, has been one of the major concerns of Iran over the past 15 years.
