Arabia to Host Quadrilateral Summit on Afghanistan this Week: HPC

The Afghanistan High Peace Council (HPC) announced that Riyadh will host a quadrilateral summit among Afghanistan, USA, UAE and Saudi Arabia this week.



The Afghanistan High Peace Council (HPC) announced that Riyadh will host a quadrilateral summit among Afghanistan, USA, UAE and Saudi Arabia this week.

“the aim to hold the summit is to pave the way for Taliban peace talks,” said the head of HPC secretariat Akram Khpalwak Sunday in Kabul. “the quadrilateral summit will be held among Afghanistan, USA, UAE and Saudi Arabia. In addition, there are some other plans that the Afghan Foreign Ministry is working on to provide all the guarantees and conditions that will be expressed on the negotiation table.” He added. “a joint delegation of HPC and Afghan Ulema will soon go to Qatar to visit and directly talk with the representatives of Taliban political office.”
However, he did not comment about the exact date of HPC delegate visiting Qatar.

Saudi Arabia hosted an international summit of peace and stability on Afghanistan earlier July, attended by the Ulema of 23 Islamic countries, and described the war in Afghanistan as a “sedition” calling on the Taliban to negotiate and end the war in the country.
