At least 67 Lost Lives in Parwan Flash Floods (+ Photos)

At least 67 people lost their lives and over 100 sustained injuries due to flash floods in central Parwan province, local officials said.


Local officials in Charikar, the capital of Parwan province, told journalists that at least 67 people were killed and over 100 were injured as a result of flash floods in the province.

Meanwhile, Safiullah Warasta, head of Parwan’s public health department said that death toll from flooding in Parwan is at 45, with 80 injured.
Floods started at 3:00 am (local time) early Wednesday. The people were asleep when the floods destroyed their homes and shops, local officials added.

According to eyewitnesses, dead bodies are under walls and debris as efforts are underway to rescue flood victims.
