At least five people were killed and seven others were wounded on Tuesday in an explosion at a parliamentary election rally in Lashkargah city of Helmand province, Helmand governor’s media office said.

According to the media office, among those wounded was the election candidate, Saleh Mohammad Achakzai.
The explosion took place in PD1 in the city.
According to the media office, the casualty toll could rise.
So far no group, including the Taliban, has claimed responsibility.
However, Taliban group warned Monday that it will do anything to disrupt the upcoming parliamentary election scheduled for Oct. 20.
