The blast took place around 7 am (local time).
“Around 7 am this morning, a suicide bomber detonated his explosive in the vicinity of Qambar Square PD 5 Kabul city in which 2 civilians and 4 ANDSF were martyred and 12 others including 5 civilians were wounded,” said Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman of the Ministry of Interior affairs.
According to him, the explosion was due to a suicide bomber.
There is no more detail about the number of casualties yet, but eyewitnesses say casualties are feared.
No group has claimed responsibility yet.
The blast comes amid ongoing peace talks between the US-Taliban delegation in Qatar.
