Blasts, Fire Hit Herat’s Gas Storage Facility
A gas storage facility western Herat province hit by explosions leading to a huge fire early Saturday morning, according to reports.
The extent of the fire has been reportedly such an extent that a column of smoke can be seen in the Kamar Kalagh area of Herat city from afar.
Herat governor said that firefighters from the 207th Zafar Corps have been sent to contain the fire at the gas facility.
Herat police, meanwhile, blocked the road leading to the scene, saying that the fire at the gas storage facility is worrying and need more firefighters to put out the fire.
There is no immediate report about the casualties and damages of the incident.
The cause of the fire has not been determined yet.
