Cairo Meeting; Continuation of Palestanian Opression under Arab Sheikhs’ Nose

We should not expect much from the meeting in Cairo; Because the Arab Sheikhs think more about their big investments in British, French, and Spanish football clubs than the fate of the Palestinian nation. They will watch the story complacently

Almost two weeks have passed since the Israeli regime’s latest violence against Palestinian civilians in occupied territories. According to the statistics published in international media outlets, over 4000 Palestinian civilians, including children and women, were killed as a result of the Israeli regime’s airstrikes on homes, hospitals, and schools. In this period, the supporters of the Israeli regime fully stood by it, and even US President Joe Biden – despite his lethargic status – traveled to the occupied land and completely and ridiculously belittled himself to the position of the regime’s spokesman, denying the massacre of Palestinian women and children in airstrikes on Al-Ahli Hospital by the Israeli regime.

There is no doubt a number of Israeli civilians have been killed in this conflict, which is condemned in any way, and basically the human rights of every person in the world should be protected, but there is a huge difference between being killed in conflict by someone and being killed intentionally, knowing that the target is not soldiers but women, children, and patients.
However, the Cairo meeting held on Saturday with the participation of some Arab, European, Asian, and African countries apparantly to find a solution to the Gaza crisis and to establish a ceasefire in this small region. In this meeting, the heads of the Arab countries supported the rights of the Palestinians on paper, as it was in the past decades. Europe and the West stood by “Israel,” and the whole meeting was summed up to a ceasefire that should be established as soon as possible.
Now the question is whether such meetings can extinguish the flames of a 70-year fire in Palestine or it will be dusted again and the main reason behind the conflict would be kept low for a while, like the fire under the ashes.

The Arab world is suffering from the lack of self-confidence caused by the defeat in the six-day war against Israel while being involved in Sheikhs’ dictatorships that, on the one hand, have not yet been able to recover from the shock of that defeat, and on the other hand, they know that their survival lies in appeasement in this old conflict; Because the Arab leaders rule over their countries with the support of the Western powers. They have never had a democratic base to rely on to formulate their foreign policy independently. Despite the fact that the aforementioned Arab countries are facing a legitimacy crisis, they have established extensive economic-political-security relations with the same West, which supports the Israeli regime, to continue their own rule. Frustrated on the outside and domineering on the inside, they try to look determined, but they are shaky. They do not have self-confidence. They are dependent on western weapons and are afraid of being angered by the arms manufacturing companies in America and Europe; Because in that case, they will lag behind internal and regional competitions.

Of course, the fear and lack of self-confidence of Arab leaders and Sheikhs do not mean a lack of demographic, economic, and military potential of Arab nations in particular and Muslims in general; Because the Middle East region, with its oil and gas alone, can force the Western countries to invert their support from Israel to Palestine; But when this great potential is in the hands of Arab Sheikhs, it turns into political sterility, and that is the situation that the Palestinian nation has been enduring for the past decades.
Therefore, we should not expect much from the meeting in Cairo; Because the Arab Sheikhs think more about their big investments in British, French, and Spanish football clubs than the fate of the Palestinian nation. They will watch the story complacently.
