China Ready to Equip Afghan Forces – says Chinese Chief of Staff
Afghanistan’s national security adviser Hanif Atmar met with Chinese chief of Joint staff Li Zuocheng in Beijing and praised China’s role in combating terrorism.
Afghanistan’s national security adviser Hanif Atmar met with Chinese chief of Joint staff Li Zuocheng in Beijing and praised China’s role in combating terrorism.
During the meeting, both sides emphasize on counter-terrorism. National security adviser described China’s role influential in this regard, national security adviser wrote on his official page.
Mr Atmar stressed on the role of Shanghai Cooperation Organization state members in the fight against terrorism and regional stability. He said the organization can have an important role in equipping the Afghan military forces.
On the other side, the Chinese joint chief of staff Mr Li Zuocheng appreciated the bravery of Afghan forces in the fight against terrorism.
Mr Li said terrorism is a common threat to the region and world and called on joint measures against this phenomenon. He added that his country is ready to cooperate and equip the Afghan air forces.
Mr Li further said that strengthening national consensus for peace is important in the region and called on the cooperation of regional countries.
