“The Afghan Government strongly welcomes the proposal of HE The Prime Minister of India and readiness of the other SAARC members to work together devising a unified strategy to fight the Coronavirus in the region,” twitted Sediq Sediqqi, a spokesman for the presidential palace.
Indian PM Narendra Modi has recently proposed from the SAARC nations to chalk out a strong strategy to fight the virus.
“We could discuss, via video conferencing, ways to keep our citizens healthy. Together, we can set an example to the world, and contribute to a healthier planet,” Mr. Modi said in a twit.
According to India’s Health Ministry, India has 82 confirmed cases of the virus with two fatalities.
In Afghanistan, the number of confirmed cases of the virus reached 10. According to the Ministry of Public Health, three more new cases were confirmed in Kapisa, Samangan and Balkh provinces.
