COVID-19 cases Exceed 16,000 in Afghanistan
Afghan Public Health Ministry announced Tuesday that 759 positive coronavirus cases were registered across the country in the past 24 hours.
Afghan Public Health Ministry announced Tuesday that 759 positive coronavirus cases were registered across the country in the past 24 hours.
“With 759 new positive cases, the total number of infected people in the country has reached 16,509,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to the Ministry, in the past 24 hours, 1,322 suspicious coronavirus samples from 15 provinces of the country were tested in laboratories.
Kabul, Herat, Paktia and Balkh provinces have recorded the highest number of infections.
The Ministry added that 5 patients died in the past 24 hours which brings the total number of deaths to 270. During this time, 22 patients have been recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 1,450 nationwide.
