With 556 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, the total number of patients soar to 24,102, say health officials at a press conference.
Kabul, Herat, Balkh, Nangarhar, Kandahar, and Paktia have registered the highest number cases in the country.
According to the ministry, 5 patients died of the virus in the past 24 hours. The total number of deaths is now at 451.
At the same time, 273 patients have been recovered, bringing the total recoveries across the country to 4,201.
The ministry says that the only way to control the pandemic is the cooperation of the people with the health sector.
