Delaying Election, “Unacceptable”

The chairman of the National Assembly Abdul Rauf Ibrahimi, who was speaking at the general meeting on Monday 19 March, said he is opposed to postponing parliamentary and district councils election from the date it was previously announced.
Mr. Ibrahimi said the election is delayed every day; this is not acceptable; only in one case (acceptable) and that it is for the sake of transparency as the process is the solution to the problems in the country.
According to him, the election is a national process and House of Representatives emphasize on holding the election transparent.
The chairman of Wolesi Jirga said the heads of the committee will summon the members of the electoral commission to report parliament about preparation of holding the election.
The Election Commission has recently spoken about the possibility of a three-month delay in holding parliamentary and district councils election.
