Deputy FM Confers with Russian Envoy about Peace, Loya Jirga

Afghanistan deputy foreign minister for political affairs Idrees Zaman met with Russian ambassador to Kabul Alexander Mantytski.
During the meeting, both sides discussed mutual relations, joint fight against drug, peace consultative Jirga which is scheduled to be held soon in capital Kabul.
The meeting comes as a tripartite meeting will be held in Moscow Thursday on the Afghan peace issue, which will be attended by the special representatives of Russia, China and the United States.
The meeting will be attended by the Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov, Special Representative of China for Afghanistan and Pakistan Deng Xijun, and also the Special Representative of the United States for Afghan reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad, the Russian embassy said in a statement.
The participants in the trilateral meeting are going to discuss the current situation in Afghanistan, the reconciliation process and negotiations between the US and the Taliban.
