End of attack on Hindu Temple; a Tali-ban Member and a Hindu citizen Killed
Taliban security command said the armed attack on a Hindu temple in Karte Parwan ended after hours of clashes.
At least two people were killed and seven others injured after two gunmen assailed the temple in an hourslong attack, according to Khalid Zadran, a Taliban-appointed spokesperson for the Kabul police.
He said the assailants also died in fighting against Taliban security forces.
Those killed included a Sikh worshipper and a member of the security forces, he added.
A car bomb also detonated in the area but caused no casualties.
Videos on social media showed black smoke emanating from the temple in Kabul’s Bagh-e Bala neighborhood.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
A spokesman for the Taliban’s interior ministry said armed assailants first hurled grenades at the guards of the temple and then entered the Hindu temple.
