However, the commission said that fortunately, the International Community expressed support on holding the elections.
According to the election commission, the international community backs up a determined timetable for the elections.
“the commission tries to hold a transparent, credible and satisfying election in cooperation with the electoral partners and donors, therefore, it needs enough time and resources,” the IEC said in a statement.
“Fortunately, election partners, especially the international community have declared their support from the issue,”
During a meeting between the leaders of the election commission and the UN’s Secretary General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Mr Yamamoto ensured the international community’s support for holding a transparent, credible and satisfying presidential election led by the election commission.
The international community backs up holding Afghan-owned and Afghan-led elections in Afghanistan, IEC added.
“If the election commission identifies and commence each election calendar, its international partners will sponsor and support it,” the IEC said.
