“If nothing extraordinary happens, we will hold a European Council meeting in order to finalise and formalise the Brexit agreement,” European Council President Donald Tusk said after meeting EU chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier.
Dominic Raab, meanwhile, quit as Brexit Secretary, in a massive blow to Theresa May’s Brexit plans.
Mr Raab, who only took over in the summer after David Davis resigned in protest over the Prime Minister’s withdrawal strategy.
“I cannot in good conscience support the terms proposed for our deal with the EU,” he said.
More than two years after the United Kingdom voted in a referendum to leave the EU.
