Explosion in front of Nimroz Governor’s Office Confirmed
DID Press: Caretaker government’s Interior Ministry confirmed suicide attack in front of provincial governor’s office, claiming the suicide bomber was gunned down before reaching the target.
The attacker detonated his suicide vest as he was shot by security guards while trying to enter inside the governor’s compound in Zaranj, the capital of Nimroz province, Abdul Mateen Qani, the spokesman for the Taliban’s interior minister, wrote on X on Sunday.
Three security guards were wounded as the suicide bomber’s vest exploded, he added.
Footages published on social media also shows the dismembered body of a man, who is said to be a suicide bomber, in Nimroz provincial government compound.
No group has claimed responsibility yet.
ISIS group has taken responsibility for attacks against the Taliban so far, including the responsibility of the suicide attack on Dawood Muzammel, the former governor of northern Balkh province.
