First US Airstrike on Taliban after Peace Deal

“This was a defensive strike to disrupt the attack. This was our 1st strike against the Taliban in 11 days,” twitted Sonny Legget, a spokesperson for the US forces.

US called on the Taliban to stop needless attacks and uphold their commitments.
“As we have demonstrated, we will defend our partners when required,” he added.

According to him, America is committed to peace, but it has the responsibility to defend Afghan security and defense forces.
The comes as Taliban fighters launched attacks on 17 provinces, killing 21 Afghan security forces and injured dozens.
