Just last months, 37 foreign armed Taliban were killed in air and ground raids in Badakhshan province.
“From two years on, the presence of foreign armed Taliban leveled up in Badakhshan province, and now there are nearly 400 foreign armed Taliban families,” chief of Badakhshan provincial council Ahmad Bashir Samim told DID press agency.
“The foreign armed Taliban have involved in all clashes with security forces,” Mr. Samim added.
Meanwhile, Sanullah Rouhani, the spokesperson of Badakhshan police said: “winter operation has launched to suppress armed Taliban specially foreign Taliban. The Resolute Support forces killed and wounded 9 foreign Taliban militants on Tuesday.”
“37 foreign armed Taliban were killed in Badakhshan province last month,” Mr. Rouhani added.
Northeastern Badakhshan province has a joint border with Pakistan’s Chitral district which has always witnessed the arrival of foreign Taliban.
Foreign Taliban level up presence in Badakhshan comes while “Wardoj”, “Yumgan”, “Zebak”, and “Arghanjkhaw” districts are under Taliban’s control for two years.
