Full Statement of “Supreme Council of National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan”

Ata Mohammad Noor has announced the establishment of a coalition called the “Supreme Council of National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan” by posting a statement on his official Facebook page.

A group of prominent parties, groups, and public figures of the country has established a front called “Supreme Council of National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan” after consultations, the statement read, adding that a committee has also been tasked to start talks with other public figures, parties, and groups.

According to the statement, the council has outlined its agenda in two parts: “The Front has two main political and military mission. Undoubtedly, our preference is to achieve lasting peace through politics.”
The statement also invited the Taliban for negotiations and to end the war.

“Supreme Council of National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan
In the name of Allah
Unfortunately, our beloved country, Afghanistan, plunged into chaos with no system in place due to incompetency, monopoly, widespread corruption, and as a result of a dastard, traitorous, and guileful deal. The security, service, and administrative institutions all collapsed and our suffering nation faced poverty, misery, insecurity, and various concerns.
Undoubtedly, this situation is not tolerable for any of our faithful compatriots.

Therefore, a group of prominent and compassionate parties, groups, and public figures responsibly established a front called “the Supreme Council of National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan” to free the country and the nation from this oppressive situation.
Moreover, committees have been tasked with initiating talks with other personalities, parties, and groups.
The agenda of this front has two main political and military missions. Undoubtedly, our preference is to achieve lasting peace through politics.

a- Political efforts
The Supreme Council of National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan intends to resolve the country’s issues through political means. So, the resumption of negotiations is extremely important. These negotiations must be aimed at achieving a lasting and dignified peace that guarantees the restoration of the republic based on Islamic principles and the establishment of an elected system with the equitable participation of all ethnic groups, trends, and various sections of society, guaranteeing the basic rights of citizens, especially women.

b- Defensive efforts
If the other side and their supporters do not accept such a solution, we will inevitably resort to the second part of the struggle (military activities). It should be noted that the responsibility and consequences would be on the other side.
The Supreme Council of National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is committed to appointing a fact-finding mission to investigate the causes of the sudden collapse of the Islamic Republic, identify those involved in this shameful deal, and introduce them as national traitors to the great nation of Afghanistan.
The “Supreme Council of the National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan”, God willing, will use all legitimate means in this regard and will not spare any effort for the sake of God and the salvation of the country and the nation.

a- Demands
The Supreme Council of the National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan sends greetings to the pure souls of all martyrs who sacrificed their lives while appreciating the resilience, sacrifice, and courage of the free people of the country, especially women and youth in the face of the current miserable situation. And urges the people of the country to prepare themselves for a difficult and long-term resistance to domestic tyranny, aggression, and foreign occupation.
The Supreme Council of National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan praises the international community’s stance on the Taliban and calls on the United Nations and all countries of the world to NOT recognize a unilateral, tyranny Taliban rule which is against the national unity and ignores the rights of ethnic groups, official sects and languages, and the rights of the dignified women – which makes up half of our society – and put the necessary pressure on them to accept an inclusive government as half of their cabinet members are under UN-sanction list.
The Supreme Council of National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan also calls on the Taliban to stop the systematic killing and arrest of military and security activists of the previous government. And to stop harassing people, forced migration, seizing people’s property, and violence against citizens. Instead, start direct and constructive negotiations with the “Supreme Council of National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.”
The Supreme Council of National Resistance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan urges the international community and international aid agencies to provide humanitarian assistance directly to the people of Afghanistan.
