Gen. Dostum Discusses Election, Peace with Hanif Atmar

The country’s first VP General Abdul Rashid Dostum met former NSA Hanif Atmar on Saturday and discussed presidential election and peace talks.
During the meeting, both sides discussed ways to make the negotiation process with Taliban successful.
Holding the presidential election was one of the key issues, the two sides emphasised on its transparency.
Gen. Dostum and Hanif Atmar also stressed on taking the security issue seriously as insecurity in the country has been escalated.
Hanif Atmar was one of the mysterious figures within the national unity government, and close persons to Gen. Dostum accused Atmar of insecurity in the north, plotting against General Dostum and strengthening Daesh (ISIS).
General Dostum had repeatedly criticized Mr Atmar, and had accused Atmar of plotting against him.
Now, Hanif Atmar, who is thought to be one of the presidential candidates, has frequent meetings with officials and heads of parties.
It seems that Mr Atmar is looking for faces like general Dostum to use their million votes in favor of himself.
