The general-director of Afghanistan’s national directorate of security (NDS) Mohammad Masoom Stanekzai has reportedly gone to Doha, Qatar for peace talks with the Taliban.
The general-director of Afghanistan’s national directorate of security (NDS) Mohammad Masoom Stanekzai has reportedly gone to Doha, Qatar for peace talks with the Taliban.
A source from the Afghan government said that general-director of NDS Stanekzai left Kabul on Saturday for Qatar, according to Radio Azadi.
The trip for talks with Taliban comes as the US Special Representative on Afghan peace and reconciliation ambassador Zalmay Khalilzad negotiated with the Taliban for six days in Qatar.
“We made significant progress on vital issues,” he twitted.
